The new ‘World War Z’ music video by Muse hit the net June 4, courtesy of Yahoo! Movies.
The four minute plus video samples Muse’s musical score interwoven with images of the emerging chaos in the zombie thriller due June 21.
The clock counts down as our metaphoric time runs out staving off the apocalyptic hordes of infected zombified humans. The music is atmospheric and smartly edited with footage previously unreleased from ‘World War Z’ starring Brad Pitt and directed by Marc Forster.
The new imagery released makes me hopeful that the “troubled” film adaptation of Max Brooks’ zombie novel is better than all of the negative pre-release media coverage regarding re-shoots and script revisions.
Brad Pitt is also one of the films producers and has been very involved in marketing the film, including his surprise appearance and introduction of the film recently to a screening in New Jersey.
Yahoo! Movies has also released a new short feature giving audiences a behind-the-scenes glimpse at Disney’s ‘The Lone Ranger.’
The footage was shot during the filming of the “Spirit Platform” scene, which has been featured in the movie trailers. The trailer shows star Armie Hammer atop a very high, very small platform above a canyon.
After viewing the feature myself, available below, “You’re a braver man than I am, Mr. Hammer.” The short feature made my palms sweat (and caused any obvious typos in this article, for sure!)
‘The Lone Ranger’ is directed by Gore Verbinski (Pirates of the Caribbean, The Ring) and stars Johnny Depp, Armie Hammer, and Helena Bonham Carter. Look for it in theaters July 3.
